On the evening of February 10, BYD held an "Intelligent Strategy" press conference at its headquarters in Shenzhen, unveiling its new advanced driving system "Tianshen Eye," marking a significant advancement in the smart automotive sector. This event introduced the "Universal Intelligent Driving" strategy, bringing advanced driving technology to all vehicle models, covering a range from the 70,000 yuan Sea Gull to the million-yuan Yangwang, truly achieving the popularization of advanced driving.
BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu stated that the "Tianshen Eye" system will be available in three versions: A, B, and C, each fitted on different brand models. Among them, the Tianshen Eye C is the three-camera version, primarily applied to BYD's brand, featuring advanced functionalities such as zero takeover at high speeds, automatic parking, and remote parking. Wang emphasized that in the next 2-3 years, intelligent driving will become an essential feature for car buyers.
The newly launched "Tianshen Eye" system will debut with 21 models, with all vehicles priced at 100,000 yuan and above being standard-equipped. The Sea Gull driving version starts at 69,800 yuan, while the second-generation Qin PLUS DM-i driving version starts at 79,800 yuan. Wang highlighted that "good technology should be accessible to everyone," which is not only a commitment to consumers but also a call to the entire Chinese automotive industry.
In terms of technical architecture, the "Tianshen Eye" employs a globally unique "tri-camera" setup combined with millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic radar to ensure high-precision distance measurement and environmental perception. BYD Senior Vice President Yang Dongsheng stated that this system will leverage massive data to provide users with a superior intelligent driving experience.
The "Tianshen Eye" is also fully integrated with the Xuanji architecture and DeepSeek large model, utilizing its powerful knowledge and reasoning capabilities to significantly enhance the efficiency of automated data generation. This innovative measure will address more routine scenarios in intelligent driving, further promoting the process of automation.
BYD has already established a leading position in the global new energy vehicle market, achieving a production and sales volume of 4.27 million units in 2024, leaving competitors like Geely and Chery far behind. With the rapid development of smart cars, BYD is redefining market competition rules through self-developed technology and a robust supply chain.
In today's new energy vehicle market, relying solely on power advantages is insufficient to win consumer favor; intelligence has become the key to market competition. BYD's advanced driving functions will be made available to mid and low-end markets, allowing more consumers to enjoy the safety and convenience brought by intelligent driving technology.
Wang noted that global car manufacturers will face a harsh reality: either become BYD or remain behind it. BYD's target of 5 million annual sales signifies the emergence of the intelligent driving era, and global car companies should feel invigorated by this moment.
The era of smart cars has arrived. BYD has not only completed the loop between new energy vehicles and smart cars but has also taken the initiative in future development. In the future, those who can keep pace quickly will stand out in this highly competitive market.
