傑富瑞分析師William Beavington發佈研究報告稱,ARM切入自研芯片市場,對博通和Marvell最爲不利,理由是雙方客戶羣重疊,可能影響博通和Marvell在資料中心、網絡、電信及企業級應用等芯片市場的市佔率。Beavington指出,ARM的商業模式是生產小芯片模塊,讓客戶能根據自身需求,量身打造自家芯片,雖然不至於徹底顛覆芯片產業,但雲端服務、電信業者等客戶可能直接轉向ARM的自研芯片,削弱博通和Marvell競爭優勢。ARM過去主要專注於研發CPU架構,將IP授權給博通、Marvell、高通等IC設計公司開發客製化芯片。
