聯想集團楊元慶獲聘中國科學技術大學校董
9月20日，在中國科學技術大學66週年校慶之際，聯想集團董事長兼CEO、中國科大計算機科學系校友楊元慶重返母校，並被聘任為中國科學技術大學校董，校長包信和代表學校向其頒發聘書。

中國科學技術大學校長包信和指出，科大非常感謝楊元慶長期以來對學校人才培養和學術科研等做出的積極貢獻。作為傑出校友代表，楊元慶一直非常關心母校教育事業，心繫科大發展，先後多次捐贈支持學校的學科建設、公共衞生等重要領域和方向。為進一步深化學校與社會各界的交流與合作，匯聚各方智慧與資源，學校研究決定聘任積極支持學校建設發展的個人為董事，共商共促學校戰略目標的實現，提升學校在國內外的知名度和影響力，為發展我國教育科研事業貢獻力量。未來，希望科大可以繼續和楊元慶及聯想集團，在科技人才培養、基礎科學研究等方面進一步開展更多密切合作。
楊元慶表示，感謝母校的信任，聘任其為中國科大校董。作為校友，對母校的培育一直心懷感恩，自己也一直希望並樂於盡己所能、回饋母校，為學校發展貢獻力量。受聘為校董後，將認真履職，積極為科大未來的發展做出更大貢獻。
1989年，楊元慶在中國科大計算機科學系取得碩士學位，同年加入聯想集團。2023年12月20日，楊元慶以個人名義向中國科大捐贈2億元人民幣，用於支持中國科大少年班學院樓建設，助力母校基礎科研創新和人才培養，這也是中國科大歷史上最大的一筆校友個人捐贈。2017年，楊元慶向中國科大計算機科學與技術學院和數學科學學院捐贈人民幣1000萬元，設立"中國科學技術大學楊元慶教育基金"，獎勵學術科研能力突出的學生、教授。2020年，楊元慶再次以個人名義向中國科大捐贈1000萬元，助力中國科大新冠疫情科研攻關，並推動學校公共衞生研究院、公共衞生與預防醫學學科建設。
