本港存款保障額提高至80萬元 爭取年內落實
存款保障委員會去年就存保金額上限由50萬元增至80萬元等優化建議進行諮詢,公眾諮詢期已於去年10月12日結束。存款保障委員會今日(6日)公布結果,認為現階段宜提升存保金額上限至80萬元,爭取今年之內落實新保障額,並於三年後再檢討。
按照建議,若存款保障額由50萬元提升至80萬元,獲全額保障存戶會由約2,040萬存戶,增至2,123萬存戶,佔銀行體系總存款的25%;而受保障存款總額估計由現時約2.6萬億元,增至約3.29萬億元。
