美國3月CPI今晚來襲,白宮提前預警:通脹率將“異常”升高!
本週二美國將公佈最新的消費者價格指數(CPI)數據。目前,白宮方面預計,由於烏俄衝突導致能源價格大幅飆升,美國3月份的通脹率將會繼續飆升。
白宮新聞發言人Jen Psaki在本週一表示,勞工部的上一份CPI報告顯示,2月份的物價水平出現了急劇上漲,但當時的數據還並未體現出烏俄衝突導致石油和天然氣價格上漲的影響。“我們預計,由於烏俄衝突的影響,3月整體的通脹率將會異常升高,”Psaki對記者表示。“我們預計核心通脹和整體通脹之間會有很大差異,而這反映出全球能源和食品市場的混亂。”
據悉,美國勞工統計局週二將發佈3月份消費者價格指數(CPI)的最新數據。經濟學家着重考慮的主要是兩種版本的CPI數據,即整體CPI以及將受氣候和季節因素影響較大的產品價格(主要是食品和能源商品)剔除之後的核心CPI。白宮方面則表示,由於上個月汽油價格的異常上漲,預計總體CPI和核心CPI之間的差距將超出正常水平。美國汽車協會的數據顯示,在3月11日,普通無鉛汽油的價格創下了每加侖4.33美元的歷史新高。但自那以後,油價目前已跌至每加侖4.11美元。Psaki表示:“一段時間內,汽油價格比烏俄爭端加劇前的水平高出1美元以上,因此汽油價格上漲約25%的因素將推動3月的通脹數據升高。”
美國勞工部今年公佈的2月CPI數據顯示,美國2月CPI增長年率達到7.9%,爲1982年1月以來的最高水平。據悉,3月份的CPI數據將於美東時間週二上午8點30分公佈。有經濟學家預計,3月CPI的增長年率將達到8.4%。此外,Psaki指出,拜登總統已經採取了幾項措施來幫助降低能源成本,其中包括從美國戰略石油儲備中每天釋放大約100萬桶石油。
而在3月31日,美國總統拜登曾指責俄羅斯總統普京造成了最近的能源成本飆升。同時,美國與西方國家一道制定針對俄羅斯能源出口的制裁。總統拜登對此表示:“這將是有代價的。”“隨着俄羅斯石油退出全球市場,石油供應下降,能源價格上漲。最終打擊到美國經濟。”
此外,Psaki還表示,白宮和國會民主黨人將推動此前一項陷入停滯的法案,並將其納入拜登總統“Build Back Better”議程的關鍵組成部分,該項法案將有助於削減兒童保育和醫療保健成本。
