美当局将检测联航客机着火引擎 未确定是否与扇叶金属疲劳有关
美国国家运输安全委员会主席Robert Sumwalt表示,经初步分析飞行纪录仪及飞行录音,发现美国联合航空波音777系列客机上周六(20日)引擎着火事故中,出事客机在丹佛起飞後4分钟出现巨响。目前尚未知悉事件与2018年2月联合航空一架飞往夏威夷客机引擎故障相同,该宗事故其後证实与引擎扇叶金属疲劳有关。出事客机引擎将於日内进行实验室测试。
日本航空一架波音777系列客机去年12月出现事故,日本当局其後发现出事引擎内两块扇叶损毁,其中一块出现金属疲劳,该宗事故尚在调查。出事客机均使用雷神(Raytheon Technologies)(RTX.US)旗下Pratt & Whitney生产的PW 4000引擎。全球共有128架波音777系列客机使用该引擎,占全球已交付1,600多架波音777系列客机的不足10%。
美国联邦航空管理局在2019年3月,因为2018年联合航空的客机引擎故障事件,指令每飞行6,500次便须进行检查。
