沙特阿拉伯前能源部长Sheikh Ahmed Zaki Yamani於伦敦逝世,享年90岁,遗体将於回教圣城麦加下葬。他曾於1973年牵头发动对西方国家石油禁运。

Yamani联合阿拉伯石油出口国及伊朗,於1973年实施连串石油减产,并停止向美国及西方国家供应石油,导致全球石油危机及油价急升。有关行动是回应美国支持以色列对埃及与叙利亚的赎罪日战争。

Yamani於1986年离任,当时国际油价跌至历史低位。他曾担任沙特阿拉伯能源部长24年,为油组(OPEC)内任期最长的石油部长。
