沃尔玛上季业绩胜预期 网上销售大增逾7成
沃尔玛(Walmart)截至4月底止首季盈利增长3.9%至39.9亿美元,收入增长8.6%至1,346亿美元,两者皆优於市场预期。美国同店销售额增长10%,分析师此前预测为8.8%。
在疫情爆发下,市场对沃尔玛的需求在3月下旬及4月初急增,而美国政府的援助金亦推动4月下旬的销售,不过集团预计民众在第二季的消费不会以同样的速度继续增长,同时由於疫情带来的不确定性,将不会提供全年盈利预测。
沃尔玛首季网上销售增长74%,自3月中旬以来,新客户数量增长4倍。不过集团表示,疫情对业务带来不确定性,故将谨慎投资并节省成本,将结束於2016年以33亿美元收购的网上初创公司Jet.com。
