金管局樂見三間發鈔銀行取消低戶口結餘收費
繼匯豐銀行及中銀香港(02388.HK)後,渣打香港亦於今日(25日)宣布自8月1日起取消個人客戶最低結餘服務費。
金管局發表回應,指樂見三間發鈔銀行為多個戶口類別取消低戶口結餘收費和其他戶口服務收費,令市民獲得更便利的基本銀行服務,讓普羅大眾受惠。
金管局又稱,非常重視公眾可以獲得基本銀行服務,並且一直鼓勵銀行業界在發展業務時,充分落實普及金融的理念。金管局早前推動《公平待客約章》,得到本港所有零售銀行支持豁免弱勢社群客戶的低戶口結餘收費。該局最近亦推出虛擬銀行,進一步促進普及金融的政策目標。
