What is “Triggered by related asset”?
When investors believe that the trend of a stock has a strong correlation with other stocks or indexes, “Triggered by related asset” order can be used to set up order commission by tracking individual stock or index quotes. The smart order will be triggered if the tracked stocks or indexes reach the specified price.
“Triggered by related asset” smart order currently supports US stock pre-market and after-hours trading.
Instruction
Suppose you want to buy a stock and believe it has a strong correlation with other stocks or indexes, you may use the “Smart Order” – “Triggered by related asset” to trade.
Let's look at the steps:
STEP 1 Select stock
Enter the stock for trading and select “triggered by related asset” in order type.
STEP 2 Input the track assets and set triggering condition
Enter the stock or index to track, and the system will automatically display the quote of the input stock or index.
If enter a triggering price higher than the current price of the tracking asset, when the market price rises such that it is at or above the triggering price, the smart order will be activated. If enter a triggering price lower than the current price of the tracking asset, when the market price falls such that it is at or below the triggering price, the smart order will be activated.
Once a smart order is submitted, its operating direction (at or above/below the triggering price) is confirmed and cannot be changed. The operating direction of a submitted order will not be changed even if you change the triggering price after submission. If you wish to change the operating direction, please cancel the existing unexecuted smart order and create another smart order using the updated operating direction.
STEP 3 Set the condition
Select direction and order type.
For order type, you may choose enhance limit order or market order. To select an enhanced limit order, you need to manually enter the commission price and the commission will be based on the set price after the order is triggered. To select a market order, the commission will be based on the market price after the order is triggered.
Set the Quantity
STEP 4 Select effective time and place order
For the valid date, same day/ 2 days/ 3 days/ 1 week/ 2 weeks/ 30 days/ 60 days/ 90 days are available, and can be extended by changing the order.
Click unlock to trade and submit order. The submitted order can be viewed under the smart order page, and the order can be modified as needed.
